Understand the Labor Contract for Expats in Vietnam

The labor contract is the ground to protect the employees’ rights and interests in relation to the employers.

For the expats, there are critical conditions in signing the labor contracts with the employers in Vietnam, such as the work visa and work permit, which may void the contracts if these documents are not legalized under the law, and the expats could be blacklisted and expelled.

There are also many arguments and disputes between the expats and the companies over social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, severance pay, the limited term of the contract, unilateral termination of the contract, contractual penalties, and compensation in case of contract termination. The session will help you to understand:

  • How to lawfully work in Vietnam (lawful work visa and work permit)
  • The compulsory insurances to the expats under the Vietnam law
  • The severance pay and job-loss pay in case of contract termination
  • The limited term of the labor contract and how many contracts an expat can sign with the company
  • Unilateral termination of the contract
  • Contractual penalties and compensation in case of termination

The event will be conducted in English by Mr. Stephen Le, Trial Lawyer and Managing Partner of Le & Tran. Join us on 10th April to fully understand the employment contract’s ins and outs for expats in Vietnam.
