Mr. Koh Tien Hua is a distinguished lawyer with decades of experience primarily in the field of family law.  He has acted for high-net-worth individuals, successful entrepreneurs and wealthy families in numerous matrimonial and family law disputes and has appeared in matrimonial cases from the Singapore Family Court to the Singapore Court of Appeal.

Mr. Hua has a reputation for his strategic thinking and ability to cut through to the key issues and solve the most intractable of cases. His clients are located throughout the world, and he provides valuable insight into resolution of family law matters.

Acting as a special advisor to Le & Tran’s family law legal team, Mr. Tien Hua provides insight into matrimonial dissolution and other family law matters that extends across several jurisdictions.  He has handled numerous cases involving substantial income and capital, both in Singapore and abroad, as well as complex financial, business, and trust structures. He has regularly drafted pre-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements for high-net-worth individuals.

Mr. Tien Hua was a senior partner of Harry Elias Partnership LLP Singapore (HEP) and Eversheds Harry Elias LLP (EHE). In addition, he was the Co-Head of HEP’s and EHE’s Family and Matrimonial Law Practice Group.  During his tenure, he was named as Market Leader and Pre-Eminent in family law in Singapore by Doyles Guide and was named as a Dispute Resolution Star by Benchmark Litigation. Under his watch, HEP’s Family and Matrimonial Law Practice Group won ALB’s Southeast Asia Family Law Firm of the Year 5 times consecutively and was the only top tier Law firm in Singapore named and ranked by Doyles Guide. The HEP Family and Matrimonial Law Practice Group was ranked as Singapore’s Best Law Firms for Family Law in the Straits Times Best Law Firms in Singapore.

In addition, Mr. Tien has appeared as lead counsel in many matters in Family Law before the Court of Appeal, the Appellate Division of the High Court, the High Court and Family Court throughout his practice and many of his cases are reported cases. His practice has involved cases spanning Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America, France, Spain and Portugal.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Tien Hua is a Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre. He was also a Child Representative appointed by the Singapore Family Court and a Collaborative Law Practitioner for Family Law. Further, he was a Commissioner for Oaths in Singapore and was an Assistant Registrar of Marriages and Licensed Solemniser. Moreover, Mr. Tien Hua was an adjunct at the Singapore Management University’s Law Faculty where he designed and taught Family Law curriculum.

Another aspect of Mr. Tien Hua’s background is that he is an accomplished author. He is one of the contributing legal writers to the 1st and 2nd editions of “Law and Practice of Family Law in Singapore” published by Sweet and Maxwell as well as a contributing writer to one edition of Singapore “White Book” Singapore Civil Procedure by Sweet & Maxwell. Further, he is the author of a family law book entitled “Divorce – Untying the Knot – All you need to know about divorce laws in Singapore” published by Times Edition – Marshall Cavendish.
